Photo Checklist: One month before

Everything you (and we) need to know 30 days out

Are you a bride-to-be? Are you one month away from walking down the aisle? If so, then this blog post is for you! We understand how crazy and chaotic the last few weeks of wedding planning can be. That’s why we want to make things a little easier for you(as your wedding photographer and videographer, we will provide an online form that covers all this)! Let’s take a closer look at what information you should know:

Wedding Who, What, & Where

This may seem obvious to some, but we need addresses, times and who is involved. Some wedding venues have multiple locations so make sure we have the correct one! We need to know when things are starting as well as when they end. This isn’t important on everything but we need to know how long the ceremony will last so we can plan photos accordingly. Lastly, we need to know who is involved- Please send us a list of family members you want photographed during those formal family portraits so we aren’t scrambling on the wedding day. Let us know who is officiating so our wedding videographers know who to mic up. Give us the names!

Transportation & Parking

In addition to knowing where everything is, we also need to know how to get from location to location. Is there parking available at all the stops? Is it free? Is the parking on the street or is there a dedicated lot? Depending on the parking situation, we have to get creative and plan a detailed route. Sometimes we hop aboard a trolley or bus and ride with you or park at one location and Uber to another. Regardless of how we get there, we want to make sure that this is planned out before the wedding day.

Special Wedding Traditions

Are you planning on being lifted in a chair for the Hora dance? Are you getting a full Mariachi band to serenade your first dance? Is your dad going to dress up like an alligator as he walks you down the aisle? We want to know about all the little details! Knowing about special traditions and events before the wedding day, allows us the time to think through the event and how to best capture it on photo and video. So, whether you are doing a first look with your dad or all your brothers, let your wedding videographer and wedding photographer know when and where the special event is taking place!

Our Form

If you go with Big Day, you don’t have to stress about any of this. 30 days before your wedding, we’ll send a form asking for every little detail. Once our form is complete, we’ll forward the details to your lead wedding photographer and videographer. Big Day will also send along an introduction so you can get to know your shooters. We always suggest scheduling a time to Zoom, Facetime, or Google Meet with them—that way, everyone can put faces to names and start getting excited about the big day. After all, no bride wants their photographer or videographer to be a stranger on their wedding day! So if for any reason you don’t jive with our shooters but still love our photos/videos—no problem! We guarantee that we will find a replacement who fits your vision perfectly. Plus, when your shooters have access to all of your answers on our form, they will know exactly what events are taking place and where/when each event is located. No more worrying about last minute changes or surprise events—we’ve got it all covered!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
